A simple, straight-forward homeschool grammar program that is perfect for independent learning in the middle school years.

{This is a sponsored post. I have been compensated for my time. All opinions are my own.}

Over the years, I've pretty much stuck with grammar books that fit with our Charlotte Mason philosophy. And I still like those books.

But the world is more technology-oriented these days, which means we have more options when it comes to homeschool curriculum choices.

As most of you know, my kids and I prefer real books and pencil/paper over online learning. Every now and then, however, we try out an online learning program.

This time, it's GrammarFlip.

TLTR Synopsis: This grammar program is fantastic for middle school kids. We loved it and you can get a 30-day trial here.

Because sometimes getting started is the hardest part.

story starters for teens

Sometimes the hardest part of creative writing is coming up with the opening line.

Where do I start?
How do I draw the reader in?
How do I make the introduction interesting?

Sometimes a prompt is helpful.

This is something I've kept under my hat for a while, but I've been looking to move.

Housing in my area has become unaffordable, to say the least. Experts claim the country is experiencing an affordable housing crisis because millennials, unlike generations past, aren't purchasing homes.

They're just renting indefinitely.

The result is sky-high rental rates. At least that's the case in the Orlando-Daytona area, where I currently live.

easy fall recipes

Fall is my favorite season of the year.

Granted, in Florida, it's a weird season that's mostly sunny and warm, but when the cooler temperatures finally do visit, it's nice to have warm foods to come home to, isn't it?

I've asked my friends to share a few of their recipes with me. I'm sure you'd like to try new things, too, so I'm re-sharing them with you today.

Cooking is one of those important life skills many kids aren't learning these days.

In the 1980s, more moms entered the workforce than ever before, and latchkey kids became a very real thing. The microwave became a household staple.

The result is that we're seeing a lot of millennials who don't know how to cook.

In fact, I've met quite a few adults in their 20s and 30s who do not know how to cook real food. I kid you not, these young adults only know how to cook in a microwave.
