How to be happy

A few months ago, I decided I need to get my life together.

I mean, my life isn't crazy (mostly), but I definitely struggle in some areas. 
I tend to work a lot. 

I'm also an all-or-nothing sort. If I start something, I am compelled to do it all right then.

For instance, when I used to do web design, I'd spend any number of hours on the project (10 hours? 30 hours?) without stopping to sleep. I had to knock it out in one sitting.

I'm like that with everything I do.

Therefore, my word for 2017 is balance.

Today, I'm sharing with you just how I plan to achieve this (and you can, too!).

What's Keeping You from Being Happy?

I'm not about New Year's resolutions; I am about progress. 

Whether that is in my business or personal life, progress is important. It means I'm moving forward.

Sometimes I find I'm not moving forward in all areas of my life.

As I said, I tend to work too much. Because I work at home, it's easy to get sucked into the computer and all my ideas.

 I take care of my family.
⦁ I spend time with my kids. 
 My house isn't falling to ruin.

Those aren't the things I neglect. What I do neglect is taking a moment to just enjoy life.

Imagine a person who doesn't take time to stop and smell the roses, because they're too focused on pruning, fertilizing, and watering the roses.

That's me. I had to do something about it. I had to set clearly defined schedules and routines for myself. I had to make a commitment, as crazy as it sounds, to not work 16 hours a day.

What about you? Is there an area of your life that's being neglected? Do you feel like you're not moving forward?

Consider all areas of your life. Are you struggling to find balance in any of these areas?
